I have knit 26 pairs of socks this year so far, that counts infant socks, and I have 4 pair that are only 1/2 done, and more and more that I want done. lol I made a cardigan for a lady at the race track for her new grandbaby. She has twin grandbabies and they are adorable. They were preemies and are still very small so the cardi swims on her. I will ask permission before I post the pic she gave me. Don't want to make anyone mad.

I also finally had the time to finish the blanket I started in February for Don and I. It is knit in the Feather and Fan Stitch, and it is warm and cozy. I wish I would of made it a little longer, but it was set aside for so long cause I have been making socks and other stuff. Needless to say at least the dogs seem to like it. Trixie was bundled up in the blanket all day.

I am knitting a new sock in another competition on Ravelry called Tour-de-Sock. We are on the 2nd of 6 socks. the first 2 have really been challenging to say the least. I have just started the 2nd one, so no photo of it yet. But I have been doing little projects in the meantime. I know I don't update my blog as often as I used to, but there are lots of new things in my Ravelry projects page.

I also got to go and see Kenny Rogers last Saturday. The races were rained out so there was no excuse not to go. lol. We drove to wonderful Greeley, CO and saw him at the Union Colony Civic Center. I hadn't seen him in about 17 years, so it was a treat to me and same gorgeous man and voice.

Howdy y'all. Well, my sweetie took me to see my baby Travis Tritt. We went all the way to South Dakota to a new place called Deadwood Mountain Grand Casino/Event center. It was really pretty there, and being that it was the week right before Sturgis started, lots of bikers. I also have been up to the normal, knitting and crocheting, and we moved, got all our stuff over here, just not unpacked.

I have had a serious sinus infection and it has really been getting me down. I went to bed at 6 last night. Woke a couple times in the night, but didn't get up till about 5 this morning. Everyone that knows me, knows I am a Vampire, as Don calls me. lol. I am NOT a MORNING person in the least. I did watch the race yesterday and also the Bronco game till it was evident that they were going to lose by tons, then I couldn't take the torture any longer. So, I changed it and watched a little bit of Discovery ID channel and then laid down. I can't get rid of the darn headache. But now that I gave my friend her blanket, it was a surprise, I can post the pictures of it here on my blog.

hello again. I have joined a test pattern group on Ravelry. I have tested a knit cardigan, a skirt, and now I am testing a dress. It is taking awhile for the dress. I will show pics of what I have been doing. I also made a sweater vest from Suzie's blog pattern. The star is a dishcloth, the burgundy is the beginning of the test dress. They skirt is available on Ravelry. Will post more when I do more of the dress. I am on row 25 now. I have to have it finished by the end of the month, and I also need to make a blanket that someone requested and sent me the yarn for. I will work on that this month too.

How is everyone doing? I have been bummed out for the last couple weeks, my tv quit on me. Yes, I have been mad. It is a newer tv, and shouldn't break on me. So, I have been doing alot of things, but sleeping alot too. It has been so freaking hot, I was beginning to think I lived in AZ and not CO. But hopefully fall will kick in soon, not the snow of winter, just the coolness of fall. I love the leaves changing colors. Adding some pics of stuff I have been working on and doing. I have lots of plans for stuff. Just a matter of getting them all figured out and done.

I tested a pattern for the Swing Cardigan. I like the way it came out. I am also testing a shawl/stole pattern for a new designer. It is so pretty. I am on the second half now. I will be finishing the 2nd half and then starting the edging soon, this is what it will look like when done, except mine is done in crimson. The pattern is wonderful and beautiful. here is the link to the designer's blog site.

From there you can get the link to the Ravelry pattern. Try it. It is kind of a pattern you need to pay attention to at first, but once you get into the second pattern repeat it gets much much easier to fly thru.

I am doing a test pattern for a lady on Ravelry. I have the cardigan all finished except for sewing the pockets on. I need to get some straight pins to do it. Here are some pictures. I will put a link to the cardigan once the designer has put it up for sale.

I worked it in Colonial Blue Vanna's Choice yarn and it is knit. Once I get the pockets on, I will be sending to my niece Elena.

I have been working on a few things. I will add pics. I did a CAL in one group I am in and it was a pineapple doily. You may like it. For some reason, I lost the blue thread I was using, so I did the border in pink. I think it looks good. I am in the process of making a hoodie again. this one is for my older niece. So, when finished it will be an adult size. She wants me to add a pocket on the front, so we will see. lol.

Today marks the anniversary of Don and my first date to go and see Travis Tritt at the Greeley Stampede. Oh what a fun day that was. I drove all the way from San Antonio to meet Don and go see my Travis Tritt. We have seen Travis a few more times since then, but not in a few years. He needs to come back to Colorado soon. I am having major withdrawals.

Well, the memorial was great. The day was nice and sunny. I made 80 angel pins and they were all gone, I have to make a few more for the people who didn't get one. I also need to finish the last 30 for Hospice. In the mean time I also made a Romper and hat from a pattern in the newest Crochet! magazine. I got it last Saturday and made the romper after doing a knit cloth with lace and cables from a pattern from Rachel's Knitting yahoo group. The romper was very easy and fast. I did the whole thing in one evening. So, here are some recent pictures. enjoy.

Hello. I have been busy all week. Don's father passed away last Friday morning and I am making angel pins for hospice staff and also some red/white/blue ones for the Memorial at Fort Logan this Tuesday March 30th. I also made a few cloths and will be posting them as well. I am super sad and miss my father in law alot. He was such a nice guy and so funny as well. I can't believe he has been gone for a week. well, I am in the process of a baby blanket that I am knitting, one that I am crocheting and also knitting some kitchen stuff. I did a hanging towel with matching dishcloth and tribbles, and also working on a mystery cloth too. I am bummed out as Don's dad is really confused, but the doc decided today that it is the pain patches. So they took one off and are going to do the same with the other since he doesn't seem to be in so much pain like before. I have to get some things mailed as my niece is stalking the mailperson waiting for her jacket to come. It is still here, but I think it will go out tomorrow as I have to get up to take the car so that Travis can get to school. They have one of those late starts again. i wish they would of had those back in the day when I was in school.

This post is to ask for prayers for my Father in Law. Well, Don and I aren't married, but I still count him as my father in law. He is such a sweetheart and is going thru some really tough times with cancer. He started out with Prostate cancer a few years ago, and that is all gone, but in December a few days before Christmas we found out that he has a new cancer and it spread like wild fires thru all his body. It is in his hips, spine, kidneys, liver and skull. In his bones as well. He started Chemo, but it is killing him faster I think. He has had two treatments and the last one he had an allergic reaction to. He had to have a blood transfusion the week before the second treatment, and they believe that is what caused the allergic reaction. He is stubborn and set in his ways and tired of the poking and prodding that they do at the hospital. he is in pain and not really able to sleep well. the medications make him goofy at times and we are just trying to spend as much time as possible with him. it is very hard to see him this way when 2 months ago he was still working as a handy man at an apt. complex at the age of 80. he will be 81 in March. We are not sure if he will make it to his birthday. Hopeful though. Please keep him in your prayers.

Good morning all. I have been working on lots of things, just haven't posted in a while. I have made a few more jackets, some knit cloths and I am also working on a baby blanket from a kit I bought last summer from Herreschner's. I have been spending time with my father in law, as his cancer is really bad now. Please keep him in your prayers. Hope you like the new pictures. This is Katelynn and Hailey. Don's two great nieces. I made them their jackets and got them to model.

I finished all the adjustments to make Elena her sweater. It should fit her, and may be a little big, but I tried my best. I took a pic with the last sweater on top to show the difference in size. The sweater will fit my sister in law who is 58, but tiny. Just was short in the sleeves for her. It was funny when she tried it on, cause she was sure it wouldn't fit her.

Now two of Don's great nieces want one too, they want the same color, that is the only part that make it a little boring. But I will get them done when I can. I kind of want to do something else for a little break, I hope they are not in a super hurry. They are so cute and tiny too.

I made this baby blanket for my neighbor who is due any day with their first baby, it's a boy. It took less than two whole skeins. it is a wave type ripple. No real pattern just multiples of 9 stitches. I also made this scarf for my son's girlfriend. it is shocking pink, not sure why the pic doesn't show the color very well. I am just getting used to a new digital camera. It is crocheted also and it is Lion Brand Suede. Just a pattern I made up as I went along.

So, it's the beginning of a new year. I sure hope this one is better than some have been in the past. I did my first crocheted clothing. Well, besides a shawl anyway. I made a baby hexagon sweater and it turned out really cute. I like the bright colors I did it in. Will look great for Spring time. We had a quiet New Year's here in Colorado. It was cold and I wasn't feeling well, so we stayed home where we are safest. Plus the dogs don't like the firecrackers, so the little Trixie was doing alot of shaky shaky and the big dogs were nervous and hiding too.

I just finished weaving in tons of ends for this blanket. I usually weave them in as I go, but these stitches were too far apart and it just didn't work that way. I hope my niece likes it. It is big enough for my queen bed, just to the edges. It is the kitties in a row pattern from Bev's Country Cottage, but I made it bigger to be for an adult. Jessica loves Kitties, so that is why I chose this pattern. I sure hope she likes it. I love it. I also am sending some slipper bedsox to my sis and my little niece too. My dad finally got his Serenity Prayer blanket, got it on his anniversary, so that made it special timing too. tomorrow is Travis' 15th birthday. It seems like just yesterday, man does time fly.

Good afternoon everyone. I have been sick as well as trying to spend more time with my family and not so much time on the puter. I have been knitting and crocheting on something almost every day. It has been super cold here in Colorado, so I have been making more slipper sox. I think they will be good add on gifts for Christmas. I have made 5 pair of adult size and one pair of kid size. I am working on some more now. I am also working on a couple blankets. One is a graph afghan for baby in Broncos theme that I am doing in Tunisian crochet. I am also making one for my niece Jessica. I hope to finish it soon. It is 53 inches long now, but she is tall, so I have a way to go. I am in no way ready for Christmas yet. heck, I still have things to mail and cards to finish filling out. I have been busy though with both knitting and crocheting as much as I can fit into my boring schedule.

I have been working ons some more things. I thought I would add the pictures. I hope everyone is ready for Turkey Day. It is my favorite holiday. I love homemade stuffing and pumpkin pie. First is a knit hat I made for Cora. My friend whose prego and this is her baby blanket. I decided to knit her booties, and I only got one finished, so I told her to get the other one she would have to bring the baby to visit when born. Then I was messing around knitting with some scrap cotton and realized I didn't have enough yarn to make a square dishcloth, so I just improvised and came up with a miniature hanging towel. what do you think?

Well, it has been awhile since I last posted. I have been doing alot. I went to Omaha, and Minneasota with Don and Travis to visit my friend Pam after the loss of her husband. I also went to a Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game, and the Rockies won, and we went to the Mall of America, that place is huge. Then I also went to Oregon to meet my online crochet friend Micki. I also met another friend from an old group that I was in who also crochets too. Her name is Yolie. while I was in Oregon, Micki taught me how to knit, so I have made a couple washcloths so far, but you know me, I pulled them out a few times to get them perfect. LOL. I have lots of pictures to share, and I also got to see the Oregon coast and we actually went on a total tour of the Heceta Head Lighthouse. It was awesome. Some of the pics I have to get from Micki, as my phone and camera batteries ran out. lol Oh, I also got to ride in the pace car here at the local track and I also went to see Mark Chesnutt at the Grizzly Rose here and got to meet him out back after the show. He was really nice and sweet to talk to. I am also working on some Christmas gifts and I need to make like 3 baby blankets. and some more crocheted washcloths for a friend that ordered them. I am keeping busy. lol

This is the blanket that I put together for one of the crochet groups I am in. We all were getting the squares to make the afghan for the husband of the group owner that passed away. I started putting it together on Sunday night and finished on Monday. Now I just need to wash it and mail to Mike.

My friend Pam's husband Buzz passed away on Saturday morning. I will miss him and send my love and sympathy to her at this time. I figured that I better get on and make a post since it has been a month and a half. I have made a few things and some I forgot to take pictures of. some I still need to take pictures of. I hope that all is well with all of you. I am bummed out as this last week was the birthday of my grand daughter that passed away. I also have a few friends that I am constantly praying for. One is going to be with God soon. I miss her and chatting with her already. She is such a sweet woman. Always there to give help when she could. She has a very serious blood infection and they are expected to unplug the ventilator soon. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her name is Debbie McMahen. I will always remember her. i will post a few pics of some other things that I have taken pictures of.

Well, I have the blanket finished and also a matching pillow. I have several pictures, so I will be posting them. all. I also have posted it on my Facebook account. My niece has already seen what it looks like there. I hope to make more of these in the future. Wasn't too hard, just alot of counting. I think it came out great. I know that she will keep warm. It didn't take me long to make either.

Progress on Blanket

Here is some more progress. I am using a pattern from Crochet Cabana, but modifying it a bit to make it my own. Instead of doing squares I am doing it all in one piece. I also did all ribbons across the blanket as the bottom with the solid part looks lonely. So, I will do the rest of the blanket this way I think. I just don't want to rip out all the first row. This way I think looks better. Plus it will be warm at the feet because of the solid squares. I hope my sister likes it for my niece.

Hey y'all. I finally got all the ends weaved in and a few more squares done also. Here is the blanket for my niece Katrina. Hope she likes it. It has been snowing more here and on and off. We only had flurries today. But the snow has been keeping me busy inside the house and working on the squares I need to finish. I have 4 more done, so I have 6 left to make. It has been fun though.

On, the Nascar front, the race today was great. Jeff Gordon won and Jimmie Johnson was 2nd. It was a great race as Jeff hasn't won at that track before, and he was on a long winless streak. So, Jeff is first in the standings, and Jimmie is in 2nd place in the standings too. So this is going to be a year like 2007.

Anybody out there??? Hopefully you are all safe from this virus that is supposed to hit today. I just want to post some of the squares that I made for the exchange in one of the groups I am in. I have to make 20-12 inch squares. I have 10 1/2 done and will have 11 done by the time I go to bed this morning. I have to get them downloaded. I have been busy doing this and weaving in the ends on the blanket that I finished last week. I have 14 more ends to weave, then I will take a picture, get it washed up and sent off to La Quinta for my niece. She will be surprised I hope. She doesn't know about it that I know of. I sure hope that she likes it. I will post those photos probably in the next day or so. As I get it all set up and washed and ready to mail. Her blanket came out beautiful. It was a new pattern for me, and I am hoping that she likes it alot. I am so proud of her. She graduated high school last June, and has started college. I will have to make one for my other niece as well. She also graduated last June. I can only do one surprise at a time though. Back to crocheting some more squares. I have this one almost done.

First attempt at Diagonal Box Stitch. Finally figured out how to decrease to make it square, this is about 7 inches.

This is a 12 inch Diagonal Box Stitch square for an exchange on one of my groups. I have to make 20 - 12 inch squares, but don't like doing the same for any. I hope I can find enough different type of squares, or make them up myself like I did with this one. I love it though.

Snow again. There are several pics of the front lawn (yeah right) and the back yard. We have a tree house in the backyard that the people before us built. Well, it was here when we moved in anyway. It has tons of snow on it. We have a good size backyard here for the dogs.

Hello all. Just a little update. I thought it was Spring but here in Colorado it is still Winter. It has been snowing and sometime snowing hard for the whole day and afternoon. At 6 p.m. we already had 10 inches and we are expecting about 6 more over night, so the roads are a mess. Just wanted to show y'all the pictures of the front and back yard.

I finished the blanket I was working on for my niece, but have to still weave all the ends before I can add the photos, wash it and send it on it's way. I love the way it turned out and then I learned how to do the Diagonal Box Stitch last night. I will add the square that I made. It came out cool too.

Chenille Bump Stitch Bookmark in #3 Red Thread

6 Flower scrubbies from a pattern that a friend gave me. They are super quick to make. I made these while talking to my niece on the phone.

This is the color for Prostate Cancer I believe. I made this 14 inch square with Red Heart Super Saver and did the border in Reverse single crochet, this is the same pattern as the thread doily above.

Okay, I am behind on posts I know. I have lots of pics to add of things that I have been making lately. Sorry. Well, I promised my friend Edie, that I would make an angel for my "adopted grand daughter" Hope. She likes pink, so I shcose a dark rose #3 thread for the angel with hearts in Filet. I also made an angel by itself for her as well. I was looking for a small rose with a ribbon, but can't find any at Walmart. I finished it last night and today I wasn't online till tonight. I just watched "Lakeview Terrace" with Don and it is pretty good. I haven't been online alot this week till late in the day because I haven't been feeling all that great. Okay. So, I found this angel in filet pattern on the net, and I did it in yarn first. I did it in RH Super saver. Thinking about putting a dark blue backing on it to show the filet more. I added some rows of hdc and treble crochet at the top. Now, I have started one in #3 thread. It was fast to do, Would of only took me one day if I hadn't run out of the skein with 5 rows to finish. Had to wait to go to Walmart.

Okay, here I am again. I have some more things to post. I have been kind of busy and trying to play catch up on my emails too. I have had a yucky weekend and still I am not feeling all that great. I will add some new pictures of stuff I am working on and done. I was doing an Angel with Hearts in filet today with yarn, and ran out of yarn with 5 rows to go. So, I will have to look for the same color. I may have to make a trip to Walmart to get it.

It is very cold here today, and it has snowed off and on all day. So, we have about 2 inches on the ground right now. I made a hat for Travis' girlfriend, and he was supposed to take a picture, but he didn't . I also got some Peaches and Creme cones last week that were on special. Got a few strange colors, but they will work none the less for stuff that can be made like dishcloths and such.

Hello everyone. Well, when we were finished with dinner, I was watching the Barack Obama inauguration that I had taped on the DVR, and I had bought one skein of Red Heart Strata. I made up a hat while watching it and have it typed up in a pdf file. I am not sure how to download a pdf file to my blog, so I may have to figure it out and do it next time. Here you all go. I got the pattern from a friend. It is a quick pattern. It took me about 2 days total because of all the distractions, but I even have the ends woven in. I hate doing that most of all, but with the filet pattern, I couldn't just crochet over them. I used about 5 1/2 balls of Vanna's Choice in a dark purple.

Well, I was going to post some new pictures of the snow and the dogs, but for some reason it will not let me. I guess I will try again later. Been trying for the last hour, and it just gives an error.
The weather forcaster job here in Colorado should be mine. Obviously all that money they have spent on those Doppler Radar systems, and they still have no clue.
Last night the forcast said we may get one inch of snow, and lo and behold we woke up to about 3 inches and by the time I took Don to work at 9 am there was like 4 1/2. I will try to get the pics uploaded as soon as I can.

I am back again. Just had a very good New Year's weekend with a visit from my friend from a couple of my groups named Pam. Her and her husband Buzz (Leonard) came on New Year's Day. We were supposed to be unpacking boxes and instead we did more talking and visiting. LOL

I did finish the shawl, didn't like the border on the pattern, so I made my own. I gave the shawl to Pam for coming to visit and helping out with what she did. Today we made the turkey that I had gotten for Thanksgiving and didn't cook because of the move. I made home made stuffing. YUMMY!!! It was a wonderful dinner.
